Zealous Newsletter: March and April 2011

Shalom everyone,

It is wonderful to report what God is doing in the land and through the ministry of Bridges for Peace as Zealous8:2 has been changing and adapting to the times. In an uncertain world there is one thing that is certain, and that is the One we serve. My vision for Zealous8:2 is to raise up more young adults who are on fire for God and love His nation Israel. This is a fundamental reality of what we seek to accomplish with our Zealous tours, but Zealous8:2 is in need of leaders who will rise up among the nations to reach out and speak out for what God is doing through this amazing ministry and how people can get involved. That is my heart and I trust it is yours to. Be blessed.

Zealous in the world:

This coming April we have some exciting events happening in the United States of America as Pensecola, Florida (April 8-10), and Springfield Missouri (April 1-3) are hosting the Zealous America conferences. These conferences are geared at bringing in passionate young adults for a thrilling experience of live music, parties, a host of different speakers on topics such as Israel, the Middle East, and Biblical prophecy. Included will be a Zealous reunion party, prizes, and the chance for someone to win a free land package to Israel (at the Missouri conference) on this coming June Zealous8:2 Young Adventure Tour.

We are also very excited for the inroads being made in countries like South Africa and Australia as Zealous Representatives and Contacts climb aboard with the drive and ingenuity to take Zealous to another level in their home countries. We want to hold them up in prayer and commit them to the Lord as they speak out in their churches, communities, and schools. As many may know, it is difficult to take a stand for the truth these days, particularly if you are a ardent supporter of Israel. We want to remind you all that you are held up in our prayers on this end and we want to encourage you to continue moving forward.

Zealous tours:

This last January 2011 tour was the completion of our ninth tour. It was a huge success as we saw sixteen young adults from five countries participate in the tour: Canada, USA, South Africa, Australia, and Japan. It was an exciting time filled with incredible prayers, fellowship, learning, and just having fun. The bonding experience for the Zealots was incredible as people, from many different cultural backgrounds, came together with common interests, to learn from one another and experience the land of Israel. They returned to their countries filled with joy, and no doubt changed people.

Having said this, we now look forward to the June 12-23rd 2011 tour which will be our tenth tour. I enjoy saying that in all we have expanded our Zealous alumni to nearly 200 people who hail from over a dozen countries. We have had past tours where nearly fourteen languages were spoken and have have people from all walks of life. This June, we look to another great adventure, as we add new aspects to the itinerary, and expect another wonderful time. Our prayer here is that those handpicked for this experience will arrive with hearts of flesh to be molded and used by God to better further His Kingdom. A common statement from Bridges for Peace is that, "Nobody ever comes here by chance or because they were bored. God has handpicked each person for such a time as this." Amen.

It is a privilege for me to serve God in this department as I work to bring Zealous8:2 to the next level, and this can be done with the help of young adults around the globe. It needs to be less of us and more of Him. Take care and I hope to see you someday in Israel on a Zealous8:2 tour.

Be blessed and cheers,

Zealous8:2 Newsletter: April and May

Dear Friends,

The excitement is building within Zealous8:2 as we are less than two weeks away from our 8th Young Adult Adventure Tour. Everything is in place and we are good to go. All together we will be 37 young adults and we believe God is going to do amazing things as we tour the country. Please pray with us that the young adults coming on this tour will have wonderful encounters with God as they experience and participate in God’s zeal for the nation of Israel.

Facebook

We are also very excited to announce that we have started a Facebook group for Zealous8:2 we want to encourage you to have a look at it as well as join our group. A lot of young adults around the world have asked us to start a page and we believe it is going to be a great tool to communicate as well as reach more young adults to stand with Israel.

Zealous8:2 Conference: USA & Canada

Next year, we will have our 2nd USA and Canada Zealous8:2 Conference. Look out for the adverting that will come out within the next month on our website.

The Zealous8:2 Conference…

… Is focused on reaching and engaging Christian young adults to understand the role God has given to Israel in His plan for the world. The Fervor Conference educates and equips them to give testimony with their words, as well as with action to love and support the nation of Israel in their daily lives.  And, of course, we want to have fun and build meaningful relationships while accomplishing this!

For more information please write to zealous@bfpusa.com

We’ve really seen Zealous8:2 grow from “strength-to-strength” and as a team we are very excited what God is doing and going to do through this young adult ministry. Please pray with us that as we move forward and expose more young adults to Israel that God will take the seeds we’ve planted and produce a mighty harvest of a new generation of Christians standing with Israel.

Be Blessed

Zealous8:2 Manager

I thought of sharing a story with you this month from someone who wrote to us about the work project we did for them during the January Zealous8:2 tour:

Dear Daniel,

It gives us great pleasure to write this letter of thanks and appreciation to you, Bridges for Peace and Zealous8:2.

During two very cold and stormy days a group of volunteers form Zealous8:2 spent long and demanding hours fixing up the WIZO (Woman’s International Zionist Organization) store for 2nd hand clothes on Hillel Street in Jerusalem.
Thanks to their relentless efforts, we fixed up the store and managed to maximize its floor and shelf space. We are convinced that the renovated store will leverage the revenue and maximize the income to be used for our social activities in the community. In fact, the past couple of days have already shown an increase in income. Moreover, the WIZO volunteers, of whom we are mainly dependent for running the store, are filled with renewed excitement about their task in the renovated store. Last, but not least, our customers, who come to us for affordable clothing solutions, feel more dignified and joyful about the new dress of the store!
We would like to thank you personally for all the preparations you made in order to make this project possible. The hours of planning, of logistics, of coming to the store and setting up a work plan – all of these made the renovation possible.

Please pass our appreciation and gratitude on to all the other volunteers who participated in the project. It was great fun having them there, and greater yet to see them the following day come back – on their last day in the country – to proudly show their handy-work to their friends (who were occupied with a different community project at the time).

Best wishes,
